Penta Career Center will host its annual Career Night on Monday, December 5th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at its campus located at 9301 Buck Road in Perrysburg Township. The event is designed to introduce high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors; middle school students; and parents to the variety of career-technical training options available at Penta.

Students interested in applying for admission to Penta, and who would like an overview of career-technical education, are encouraged to bring their parents to Career Night. During the event, students and parents will be able to speak with Penta instructors and students, meet Penta alumni, and discuss career opportunities with representatives from business and industry. Various clubs and organizations will also have displays for students and parents to obtain information. In addition, during Career Night, potential students can register to win a gift card to the Penta Bookstore.

Penta offers 28 career-technical training programs for high school students during their junior and senior years of high school at the school’s main campus. In addition, Penta offers a year-long Sophomore Exploratory program for students who are interested in exploring career-technical fields during 10th grade. The Sophomore Advanced Manufacturing Academy is also available for those interested in pursuing careers in the manufacturing industry. Penta also provides one-year and two-year program options at satellite locations for area students. These programs include Marketing Education, Teaching Professions and Industrial Maintenance which are available to students within some of Penta’s member school districts.

Penta Career Center serves students in the following 16 school districts: Anthony Wayne, Benton-Carroll-Salem, Bowling Green, Eastwood, Elmwood, Genoa, Lake, Maumee, North Baltimore, Northwood, Otsego, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Swanton, and Woodmore.

Applying for admission to Penta Career Center is easy for high school students enrolled in any of the following member school districts: Anthony Wayne, Benton-Carroll-Salem, Bowling Green, Eastwood, Elmwood, Genoa, Lake, Maumee, North Baltimore, Northwood, Otsego, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Swanton, and Woodmore.

Career Assessment Services

Penta offers Career Assessment to assist students in realistic planning for the future by helping them discover their interests, abilities, career preferences, and learning styles. Certified Career Assessment staff work with students individually to support them in determining options for their high school education and beyond. Students interested in enrolling in the Sophomore Exploratory program or the Sophomore Advanced Manufacturing Academy will complete a Career Assessment. High school students at other grade levels can request a Career Assessment by contacting their school counselor.

Sophomore Program Options

Penta offers the Sophomore Exploratory Program for students who are interested in investigating career-technical fields on Penta’s campus. In this year-long program, sophomores will explore up to three career areas, earn academic credits, and receive small group and one-on-one career and life skills mentoring. At the conclusion of this program, students will have the tools and knowledge necessary to make informed choices regarding their future educational, career and life plans. As part of the admissions process for this program, students will participate in a Career Assessment prior to acceptance into this program.

The Sophomore Advanced Manufacturing Academy is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in the manufacturing industry. Sophomores will be instructed in safety, attain valuable skills and learn about the variety of career opportunities in the manufacturing industry. Students will experience manufacturing areas such as: Welding, Precision Machining, Robotics & Automation, and Computer-Aided Design.

Additional Career-Technical Programs

Career-technical programs are also offered as early as tenth grade for students who would benefit from specialized instruction and support services. Admission to these programs requires a referral from the student's high school counselor along with a career assessment at Penta.
