ATTENTION PENTA SENIORS:  Owens Community College will be here biweekly (twice a month) through December.  After January, we will move to a weekly meeting for the representative.  Please make sure to sign up with Ms. Kronk in the Student Services Office – Room 1103 to learn about the awesome opportunities Owens has to offer as well as learn the next steps to continuing your education after high school.  The next meeting date will be Friday, March 7.

ATTENTION PENTA SENIORS:  The Owens Tech Prep Scholarship is available on the Penta Career Center Scholarship site, the Student Services Office (Room 1103) and also from Owens at www.owens.edu. To qualify, seniors must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 by the end of their seventh semester of high school, applied to attend Owens Community College in a program related to their Tech Prep program here at Penta, and complete the FAFSA form.  An official high school transcript is also required. The deadline for all documentation is by the end of the spring semester of the academic year immediately following your high school graduation.  If you need a paper copy, please see Ms. Kronk in the Student Services Office or locate it online at www.pentacareercentger.org, click on Current Students/Parents tab and click on Scholarships and it can be found there.

ATTENTION PENTA GRADUATING SENIORS:  The Penta Career Center Common Application is now available on the Penta Career Center Scholarship Website or in the Student Services Office – with Ms. Kronk.  This scholarship is given to Penta seniors ONLY and is a great financial aid tool for you to use for tuition, college costs, or tools for the work place!  Applications and all supporting documents including all reference letters are due on Friday, March 14 at 3:00 PM.  This is a much earlier date than normal so it is your responsibility to get you r application done and turned in as well as your letters as soon as possible!  DO NOT WAIT!  Please get all of your materials that you need in a timely manner starting NOW. Please see your counselor or Ms. Kronk with any questions.

ATTENTION GRADUATING SENIORS:  The Hirzel Scholarship and Resource Assistance Scholarship are now available in the Student Services Office and on the Penta Career Center Scholarship Website. These are two, separate awards given only to Penta Seniors and may be used for college or work-related expenses. Completed applications with all supporting materials including reference letters are due back to Ms. Kronk on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM.  OO NOT WAIT!   Reference letters need to be requested NOW!

ATTENTION SENIORS FROM EASTWOOD, ELMWOOD, GENOA, LAKE, NORTHWOOD, OAK HARBOR, SWANTON AND WOODMORE: Your Jostens Senior Order Delivery Date will be today during all lunches in the Commons.  Please make sure to have all monies paid in full or if you still have a balance or if you still have a balance you will need to pay your balance off prior to getting your order.  Jostens no longer accepts personal checks so please have cash or a credit card.

DRUG FREE CLUB MEMBERS:  The next incentive day is today.  Please stop by the DFC table during your lunch to get a sweet treat from Nothing Bundt Cakes!  Don’t forget to wear your DFC t-shirt!

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS:  Penta Career Center will be holding a “Masquerade” Spring Dance on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.  Tickets cost $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased in the school store and must be purchased no later than Friday, March 14 and all Penta IDs will be required to enter. You must have the appropriate semi-formal attire, eye masks are the only covering that you can have – no full face masks will be allowed.  Face paint is also strictly prohibited.  Outside food and drinks are not allowed as well.  If you are bringing a guest to the dance that is not from Penta, you must obtain a guest dance form on the red wall in the Student Services Office.

ATTENTION STUDENTS: Are you considering college or would you like to learn more about in-demand careers?  Make sure to come to the College & Career Preview Night at Owens Community College on Wednesday, March 5 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. This is your chance to talk with representatives from business and industry, military service branches, along with colleges and universities in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania and more!  Experts on financial aid and scholarships, disability services and college athletics will also be there to answer your questions. Invite Mom or Dad of just bring your friends!!  For more information, please make sure to see your guidance counselor.
