Parent Night is August 23

    Parents/Guardians are invited to Penta's annual Parent Night on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.  This event provides the opportunity to meet teachers and administrators.  At 6:15 p.m. parents will follow their student's first semester schedule.  Beginning at 7:15 p.m. parents will have the opportunity to meet their student's second semester teachers.  Penta's school store will be open during Parent Night and yearbooks can be ordered during the event at a cost of $38.
     Prior to Parent Night, a light supper will be available from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Commons.  Cost is $6.00 per person and includes deli sandwiches, salad, beverage, and dessert.   In addition, a College Planning presentation will take place prior to Parent Night beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Susor Auditorium.

Pacesetter Award

Penta Honored with Pacesetter Award

Penta Career Center is proud to announce that it is the recipient of a Pacesetter School Award from the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB).  Teachers and administrators were on hand in July to accept the award during SREB’s Annual High Schools That Work (HSTW) Staff Development Conference in Orlando, Florida.  
  “We are very honored to receive this award from the SREB,” says Ronald Matter, superintendent of Penta Career Center.  “Over the years, our staff has worked collaboratively to transform our professional development opportunities.  We feel this approach has led to staff ownership of their professional development and an increase in students’ ownership of their learning.”

Some of the 2018 Penta Academic Achievement Award Recipients

Seniors Earn 2018 Academic Achievement Award

Penta Career Center held its annual Academic Achievement Award Ceremony on April 18, 2018 at the Penta campus.  The award was presented to seniors who achieved excellence in their academic studies by maintaining a 3.25 grade point average for the first three quarters of the school year. During the ceremony, 155 students were recognized.  Special guest speaker at the ceremony was Dr. Steve Robinson, president of Owens Community College. Award recipients received a pin and a certificate for their accomplishment. The award pins for the students were sponsored by Toledo Building Services. More +
2018 NTHS New Members

Students Inducted into Penta’s National Technical Honor Society

      Penta Career Center students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a special ceremony on March 22, 2018 at Penta. This year 26 students were honored for their career-technical achievements.  
      The NTHS is similar to the National Honor Society at comprehensive high schools where students are recognized for scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  Membership in the NTHS at Penta requires students to maintain excellent attendance, good behavior and a 3.5 overall grade point average.  In addition, inductees must meet the seven attributes of NTHS (skills, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership).  
      Students who were selected for induction into the 2018 NTHS at Penta include: Savannah Banks (Springfield), Sophomore Exploratory; Alana Bankston (Genoa), Culinary Arts; Paige Calopietro (Maumee), Medical Technologies Academy; Moriyah Clint (Rossford), Sophomore Exploratory;
