Penta Class of 2018 Recognition Ceremonies
The Class of 2018 at Penta Career Center will be honored during special Senior Recognition Ceremonies on Tuesday, May 15; Wednesday, May 16; and Thursday, May 17, 2018.  (See below for ceremony details.).  The high school seniors, who will be completing career-technical programs at Penta, are from sixteen area school districts (Anthony Wayne, Benton-Carroll-Salem, Bowling Green, Eastwood, Elmwood, Genoa, Lake, Maumee, North Baltimore, Northwood, Otsego, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Swanton, and Woodmore).  All ceremonies will take place in the Susor Auditorium at Penta Career Center, 9301 Buck Road in Perrysburg Township.    Read More...
Seniors Earn 2018 Academic Achievement Award
Seniors Earn 2018 Academic Achievement Award
Penta Career Center held its annual Academic Achievement Award Ceremony on April 18, 2018 at the Penta campus.  The award was presented to seniors who achieved excellence in their academic studies by maintaining a 3.25 grade point average for the first three quarters of the school year. During the ceremony, 155 students were recognized.  Special guest speaker at the ceremony was Dr. Steve Robinson, president of Owens Community College. Award recipients received a pin and a certificate for their accomplishment. The award pins for the students were sponsored by Toledo Building Services.  Read More...
Students Inducted into Penta’s National Technical Honor Society
Students Inducted into Penta’s National Technical Honor Society
      Penta Career Center students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a special ceremony on March 22, 2018 at Penta. This year 26 students were honored for their career-technical achievements.  
      The NTHS is similar to the National Honor Society at comprehensive high schools where students are recognized for scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  Membership in the NTHS at Penta requires students to maintain excellent attendance, good behavior and a 3.5 overall grade point average.  In addition, inductees must meet the seven attributes of NTHS (skills, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership).  
      Students who were selected for induction into the 2018 NTHS at Penta include: Savannah Banks (Springfield), Sophomore Exploratory; Alana Bankston (Genoa), Culinary Arts; Paige Calopietro (Maumee), Medical Technologies Academy; Moriyah Clint (Rossford), Sophomore Exploratory;

Students Qualify for Ohio BPA Contest
      High school students enrolled in business programs at Penta Career Center and at Penta’s satellite programs at Swanton High School, recently earned awards during the regional contest of Business Professionals of America (BPA) held at Bowling Green State University on January 23.  Thirty students from Penta’s main campus programs earned top awards at the contest and qualify for the 2018 BPA State Leadership Conference March 8 & 9 in Columbus.  In addition, 13 students from Penta’s satellite business programs at Swanton High School also qualify for the BPA state competition.    Read More...

40 Students Earn Top Awards at the SkillsUSA Regional Contest
On February 16, 40 Penta Career Center students earned top awards at the SkillsUSA Regional Competition at Four County Career Center in Archbold, Ohio.  See below for the list of Penta students who earned awards at the regional competition and qualify for the Ohio SkillsUSA Championships in Columbus, Ohio on April 24 & 25, 2018.  
     First Place (gold medal) winners were: Nicholas Alonzo (Lake) for the Photography contest; Kamilah Bakhsh (Anthony Wayne) for the Criminal Justice contest; Colton Fugate (Rossford) for the Welding contest; and Morgan Smolinski and Celina Stevens, both from Perrysburg, for the Esthetics contest.

Students Qualify for Ohio HOSA Conference
      Dozens of Penta Career Center students, who are enrolled in the Medical Technologies Academy, Dental Assistant or Exercise Science/Sports Health Care programs, earned top awards at the 2018 HOSA Regional competition.  The regional contest took place on February 2 at The University of Toledo.  All students listed below qualify to compete in the Ohio HOSA Conference that takes place April 10 and 11 in Columbus.      Read More...

The Penta Career Center Board of Education, during its January 10, 2018 organizational meeting, has elected Judith Paredes, who represents the Wood County Educational Service Center, as president of the Board.  In addition, Kenneth Sutter, who represents the Rossford School District, was elected vice president of the Penta Board.    Read More...

Culinary Arts Makes List of 2018 "Elite 50 Hospitality Programs" from Sullivan University
      Penta Career Center's Culinary Arts program has been recognized by Sullivan University as one of the nation's top hospitality programs.  In December, the university named the winners for the 2018 Elite 50, an annual selection of the top 50 secondary school hospitality programs in the nation.  Read More...
