Students Inducted into Penta’s National Technical Honor Society
Students Inducted into Penta’s National Technical Honor Society
      Penta Career Center students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a special ceremony on March 22, 2018 at Penta. This year 26 students were honored for their career-technical achievements.  
      The NTHS is similar to the National Honor Society at comprehensive high schools where students are recognized for scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  Membership in the NTHS at Penta requires students to maintain excellent attendance, good behavior and a 3.5 overall grade point average.  In addition, inductees must meet the seven attributes of NTHS (skills, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership).  
      Students who were selected for induction into the 2018 NTHS at Penta include: Savannah Banks (Springfield), Sophomore Exploratory; Alana Bankston (Genoa), Culinary Arts; Paige Calopietro (Maumee), Medical Technologies Academy; Moriyah Clint (Rossford), Sophomore Exploratory;

Students Qualify for Ohio BPA Contest
      High school students enrolled in business programs at Penta Career Center and at Penta’s satellite programs at Swanton High School, recently earned awards during the regional contest of Business Professionals of America (BPA) held at Bowling Green State University on January 23.  Thirty students from Penta’s main campus programs earned top awards at the contest and qualify for the 2018 BPA State Leadership Conference March 8 & 9 in Columbus.  In addition, 13 students from Penta’s satellite business programs at Swanton High School also qualify for the BPA state competition.    Read More...

40 Students Earn Top Awards at the SkillsUSA Regional Contest
On February 16, 40 Penta Career Center students earned top awards at the SkillsUSA Regional Competition at Four County Career Center in Archbold, Ohio.  See below for the list of Penta students who earned awards at the regional competition and qualify for the Ohio SkillsUSA Championships in Columbus, Ohio on April 24 & 25, 2018.  
     First Place (gold medal) winners were: Nicholas Alonzo (Lake) for the Photography contest; Kamilah Bakhsh (Anthony Wayne) for the Criminal Justice contest; Colton Fugate (Rossford) for the Welding contest; and Morgan Smolinski and Celina Stevens, both from Perrysburg, for the Esthetics contest.

Students Qualify for Ohio HOSA Conference
      Dozens of Penta Career Center students, who are enrolled in the Medical Technologies Academy, Dental Assistant or Exercise Science/Sports Health Care programs, earned top awards at the 2018 HOSA Regional competition.  The regional contest took place on February 2 at The University of Toledo.  All students listed below qualify to compete in the Ohio HOSA Conference that takes place April 10 and 11 in Columbus.      Read More...

The Penta Career Center Board of Education, during its January 10, 2018 organizational meeting, has elected Judith Paredes, who represents the Wood County Educational Service Center, as president of the Board.  In addition, Kenneth Sutter, who represents the Rossford School District, was elected vice president of the Penta Board.    Read More...

Culinary Arts Makes List of 2018 "Elite 50 Hospitality Programs" from Sullivan University
      Penta Career Center's Culinary Arts program has been recognized by Sullivan University as one of the nation's top hospitality programs.  In December, the university named the winners for the 2018 Elite 50, an annual selection of the top 50 secondary school hospitality programs in the nation.  Read More...

$28,000 Raised from Annual Scholarship Dinner & Silent Auction
      Penta Career Center held its annual Scholarship Dinner & Silent Auction on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the Commons at Penta.  This year's theme was "It’s VEGAS!”  The event raised over $28,000 for the following scholarships for Penta students:  Culinary Scholarship, Hirzel Family Scholarship and Penta’s General Scholarship Fund.  About 318 guests attended the event.   Thank you to all who attended the event and who supported or donated to the Silent Auction.    Read More...

Congratulations to six former students who will be recognized November 9 with the 2017 Outstanding Alumni Award.  Each year the Penta Career Center Outstanding Alumni Award is bestowed upon individuals who have completed a career-technical training program at Penta and who are currently working in a successful career.  Since the award’s inception in 1993, 145 former high school or adult education students have been honored with the award.  This is Penta’s 25th year of recognizing alumni.  Read More...
