2014 National Technical Honor Society Induction

Congratulations to Penta Career Center students who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a special ceremony on March 27, 2014. This year 16 students were honored for their career-technical achievements.

The NTHS is similar to the National Honor Society at comprehensive high schools where students are recognized for scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership in the NTHS at Penta requires students to maintain excellent attendance, good behavior and a 3.5 grade point average. In addition, inductees must meet the seven attributes of NTHS (skills, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership). This is the second year the NTHS has been in existence for students at Penta. It was established in 2013 as an additional way to recognize student achievement and leadership.

Students who were selected for induction into the 2014 NTHS at Penta included:
Courtney Blevins (Springfield), Early Childhood Education; Cassandra Braden (Elmwood), Medical Technologies; Christyanne Dazley (Genoa), Medical Technologies; Marisa D’Emilio (Genoa), Cosmetology; Julia Dieckhoner (Swanton), Cosmetology; Alaya Fields (Eastwood), Exercise Science/Sports Health Care; Danielle Flory (Anthony Wayne), Exercise Science/Sports Health Care; MeKenze Healey (Rossford), Medical Technologies; Sarah Hufford (Rossford), Exercise Science/Sports Health Care; Sarah Karmol (Anthony Wayne), Medical Technologies; Orfrancis Ozuna (Lake), Computer Aided Design; Anthony Reighard (Perrysburg), Geographic Information Systems; Rebecca Robinson (Maumee), Early Childhood Education; Sydney St. Andre (Springfield), Digital Video Production; Trever Vaughn (Eastwood), Heating & Air Conditioning Technology; and Sean Weaver (Bowling Green); Automotive Collision Repair.

During the ceremony the following students were inducted as officers into the NTHS at Penta. They included: Julia Dieckhoner, president; Christyanne Dazley, vice president; and MeKenze Healey, secretary.

Each NTHS inductee received a membership certificate, pin, window decal, a seal for their high school diploma, and a white tassel to be worn during graduation. Senior inductees also received a cord that they will wear for graduation.

The NTHS was founded in 1984 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Today, the NTHS serves thousands of schools across the United States.
