Congratulations to students from Penta Career Center and several of our satellite programs recently earned top awards at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference in Columbus, Ohio. As a result of earning top awards, 22 students qualify for the 2022 FCCLA National Leadership Conference June 29 – July 3 in San Diego, CA. Click HERE

Students who were top award recipients at the state FCCLA event and who qualify for the FCCLA National Leadership Conference are listed below.
Early Childhood Education students and Gold – 1st Place award winners for the Parliamentary Procedures contest include: Julia Brazzil (Springfield), Gretchen Germann (Bowling Green), Raja Green (Anthony Wayne), Isabella Riffle (Bowling Green), Shelby Roe (Perrysburg), Sophie Kepling (Otsego), and Jorja Mackey (Maumee).
Culinary Arts student award winners include: Christian Dennis (Springfield), Gold and 1st place for the Baking and Pastry contest; Celina Mora (Perrysburg), Gold and 3rd Place for Baking and Pastry contest; Katelyn Hawker (Perrysburg), Gold and 1st Place for Culinary Math contest; and Shay Hall (Northwood), Gold and 1st Place for the Culinary Math contest.
The following students from Penta’s satellite programs also earned top state FCCLA awards and qualify for the national conference.
• Leah Schroeder from the Teaching Professions program at Perrysburg High School earned a gold award and 1st place in the Interpersonal Communications contest.
• Students from the Family and Consumer Sciences programs at Anthony Wayne High School and Junior High earned the following awards: Olivia Knapinski, Gold-1st Place for the Event Management contest; Hannah Rizzo, Gold – 1st Place for the Nutrition and Wellness contest; Fiona Freeman, Gold-1st Place for the Sports Nutrition contest; Grace Emahiser, Gold-1st Place for the Chapter Service Project; Summer Link, Gold-1st Place for the Repurpose and Redesign contest; Amelia Cappel, Gold-2nd Place for the Career Investigation contest; and Grant Hubley, Gold-1st Place for the Public Policy Advocate contest.
• Rylie Askins, Sara Britton and Ava Coe, who are students from the Family and Consumer Sciences program at Otsego Junior High, earned Gold – 2nd place awards for the Food Innovations contest.
