Regional SkillsUSA Contest
Congratulations to all Penta Career Center students who competed at the Regional SkillsUSA contest at EHOVE Career Center on February 13. Penta had 32 medal winners. Way to go students and thanks to the staff members who helped prepare the students for the competition!
Penta students earned the following awards:
First Place (gold medals): Dave Bankey, Zach McCoy and Chance Sigurdson from Welding for the Welding Fabrication contest; Jenna Grames from Exercise Science/Sports Health Care for the Medical Math contest; Sarah Hufford from Exercise Science/Sports Health Care for the Medical Terminology contest; Megan Low (and model Jessica Austin) from Cosmetology for the Nail Care contest; and Joe Mayer from Welding for the Welding contest.
Second Place (silver medals): Julia Dieckhoner from Cosmetology for the Job Skill Demo A contest; Eric Lincoln from Computer Hardware/Networking for the Information Technology Services contest; Colin Heslet from Geographic Information Systems for the Job Interview contest; Alexandra Priddy from Computer Hardware/Networking for the Prepared Speech contest; Olivia Reno from Medical Technologies for the Medical Math contest; Alex Santellana from Advanced Manufacturing Technology for the Extemporaneous Speaking contest; Isabella Vargas from Career Based Intervention for the Customer Service contest; and Drake Beck from Heating & Air Conditioning Technology, Nate Booth from Construction Electricity, Jayne Harvey from Construction Carpentry, and Emilio Valentin from Construction Masonry all for the Team Works contest.
Third Place (bronze medals): Jonathan Faneuff and Abe Reyes both from Public Safety/Criminal Justice, Ashley Kramer, Marissa Panos, M’Kayla Pant, Kylee Taylor, and Liz Rood all from Cosmetology all for the Opening and Closing Team contest; Alex Moore from Automotive Collision Repair for the Collision Repair Technology contest; Jaclyn Sampsell (and model Alexis Neagley) from Cosmetology for the Nail Care contest; Jesse Thornton from Welding for the Welding contest; Chase Tressler from Computer Hardware/Networking for the Information Technology Services contest; and John Wilkerson from Computer Aided Design for the Technical Drafting contest.
