Students Qualify for Ohio HOSA Conference
HOSA Logo      Dozens of Penta Career Center students, who are enrolled in the Medical Technologies Academy, Dental Assistant or Exercise Science/Sports Health Care programs, earned top awards at the 2018 HOSA Regional competition.  The regional contest took place on February 2 at The University of Toledo.  All students listed below qualify to compete in the Ohio HOSA Conference that takes place April 10 and 11 in Columbus.     
      Students earning first place awards included: Abigail Bateson (Bowling Green) for the Parliamentary Procedure Team contest; Faith Berning (Northwood) for the Speaking Skills contest; Dakota Blecke (Eastwood) for the Parliamentary Procedure Team contest; Kylee Cifuentes (Anthony Wayne) for the Personal Care contest; Robin Clark (Otsego) for the Healthy Lifestyle contest; Gavin Healey (Lake) for the Parliamentary Procedure Team contest; Olethia Ketcham (Bowling Green) for the Parliamentary Procedure Team contest; Navaeh McKind (Springfield) for the Transcultural Health Care contest; Peyton Pope (Lake) for the Parliamentary Procedure Team contest; Charley Siwa (Anthony Wayne) for the Parliamentary Procedure Team contest; Alexis Wiles (Otsego) for the Dental Science contest; and Alissa Wilson (Bowling Green) for the Dental Terminology contest.
      Second place awards were earned by the following students: Mary Arnold (Elmwood) for the Medical Law & Ethics contest; Libby Braun (Woodmore) for the Medical Assisting contest; Jaelyn Fairchild (Lake) for the Emergency Medical Technician contest; Garrett Germann (Bowling Green) for the Life Support Skills contest; Shianna Lillich (Anthony Wayne) for the Personal Care contest; Marissa Morris (Rossford) for the Clinical Specialty contest; Ellise Pierce (Lake) for the Medical Reading contest; Jordan Rodriguez (Lake) for the Interviewing Skills contest; Alyssa Scott (Lake) for the Emergency Medical Technician contest; Taylor Sherman (Perrysburg) for the Home Health Aide contest; Dalton Strickland (Lake) for the Dental Science contest; Adrianna Watkins (Springfield) for the Dental Terminology contest; and Emily Williams (Lake) for the Speaking Skills contest. 
      The following students earned third place awards: Samantha Bobek (Springfield) for the Health Career Photography contest; Paige Calopietro (Maumee) for the Behavioral Health care contest; Raeanna Duty (Oak Harbor) for the Speaking Skills contest; Ericka Garabrandt (Lake) for the Veterinary Science contest; Justin Goney (Genoa) for the Transcultural Health Care contest; Carley Kidd (Lake) for the Medical Terminology contest; Serenity Krohn (Springfield) for the Public Service Announcement Team contest; Breanna Longenecker (Springfield) for the Nutrition contest; Samairah Pressley (Springfield) for the Public Service Announcement Team contest;  Kenzie Sheeks (North Baltimore) for the Life Support Skills contest; Katelynn Stevens (Springfield) for the Public Service Announcement Team contest; Mercedez Steward (Elmwood) for the Interviewing Skills contest; and Mikaila Sweeney (Genoa) for the Dental Terminology contest.
