2015 Ohio SkillsUSA Contest Winners

Congratulations to Penta Career Center students who earned top awards at the Ohio SkillsUSA Championships on April 15 in Columbus! 

The following first place winners received gold medals and qualify for the National SkillsUSA Championships June 22-26, 2015 in Louisville, Kentucky: Josh Blochowski (Maumee) – Culinary Arts, Culinary Arts contest; Eric Kurtz (Oak Harbor) – Construction Masonry, Masonry contest; Alex Moore (Eastwood) – Automotive Collison Repair, Collision Repair contest; Jaclyn Sampsell (Genoa) – Cosmetology, Nail Care contest (model Alexis Neagley – Perrysburg); Zach Wilson (Swanton) – Construction Carpentry, Cabinetmaking contest; and Derek Fillmore (Oak Harbor), Efrem Simmons (Maumee), James Simon (Eastwood) – all from Construction Concepts, Tech Prep Showcase (Architecture and Construction).

Second place (silver medals) included: Megan Low (Otsego) – Cosmetology, Nail Care contest (model Jessica Austin – Genoa); Tiehua Albring (Swanton), AnaPaula Llanas (Bowling Green) and Gino Parker (Perrysburg) – all from Culinary Arts for the Tech Prep Showcase Hospitality and Tourism; and Jacob Malone (Swanton), Katelyn Rhodes (Eastwood) and Cassidy Steinline (Perrysburg) – all from Culinary Arts and Susan Race (Lake) – Cosmetology, all for the Entrepreneurship contest.

Third place (bronze medals) included: Sarah Hufford (Rossford) - Exercise Science/Sports Health Care, Medical Terminology contest and Eric Lincoln (North Baltimore) - Computer Hardware/Networking, Information Technology Services contest.
