Congratulations to New Members of Penta's 2015 National Technical Honor Society

Congratulations to 22 Penta Career Center students who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a special ceremony at Penta on April 9, 2015.

The NTHS is similar to the National Honor Society at comprehensive high schools where students are recognized for scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership in the NTHS at Penta requires students to maintain excellent attendance, good behavior and a 3.5 grade point average. In addition, inductees must meet the seven attributes of NTHS (skills, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership). This is the third year the NTHS has been in existence for students at Penta. It was established in 2013 as an additional way to recognize student achievement and leadership.

Students who were inducted into the 2015 NTHS at Penta included:  Tiehua Albring (Swanton), Culinary Arts; Imtithal Baara (Lake), Medical Technologies; Jacob Balla (Lake), Advanced Manufacturing; Samantha Barrett (Genoa), Medical Technologies; Kelcie Bean (North Baltimore), Early Childhood Education; Madellyn Berlin (Eastwood), Small Animal Care; Haley Crawford (Genoa), Medical Technologies; Kylie Davis (Swanton), Exercise Science/Sports Health Care; Samantha DeSelms (Bowling Green), Culinary Arts; Hannah Garcia (Springfield), Early Childhood Education; Colin Heslet (Perrysburg), Geographic Information Systems; Abbigale McCormick (Springfield), Medical Technologies; Logan Pietrowski (Woodmore), Medical Technologies; Olivia Reno (Genoa), Medical Technologies; Tiernen Rice (Swanton), Digital Video Production; Kristiana Roberts (Oak Harbor), Medical Technologies; Alexa Schmeltz (Eastwood), Exercise Science/Sports Health Care; Cassidi Tucker (Genoa), Cosmetology; Madison Vasko (Lake), Computer Hardware & Networking; Madison Vaughn (Eastwood), Marketing; Lauren Vizi (Genoa), Medical Technologies; and Jessica Weaver (Genoa), Medical Technologies.

The following students were elected NTHS officers for 2015:  Madellyn Berlin, president; Olivia Reno, vice president; Imtithal Baara, treasurer; and Haley Crawford, secretary.

Each NTHS inductee received a membership certificate, pin, window decal, a seal for their high school diploma, and a white tassel to be worn during graduation. Senior inductees also received a cord that they will wear for graduation.
