Congratulations SkillsUSA Regional Winners!
In February, Penta Career Center students earned top awards at the SkillsUSA Regional Competition at Four County Career Center in Archbold, Ohio. See below for the list of Penta students who earned awards at the regional competition and qualify for the Ohio SkillsUSA Championships in Columbus, Ohio on April 11 & 12, 2017.
First Place (gold medal) winners were: Hannah Likes (Lake) for the Cosmetology contest; Hannah Fairchild (Lake), Allie Jude (Northwood) and McKenna Kohli (Otsego) all for the Crime Scene Investigation Team contest; Ryan Pierce (Perrysburg) for the Culinary Arts contest; Darian Messer (Otsego) and Analicia Santos (Northwood) both for the Esthetics contest; Alexi Kruse (Eastwood) for the First Aid/CPR contest; Tyler Struffolino (Maumee) and Connor Hotz (Otsego) both for the Job Skills Demo A contest; Danielle Pearson (Anthony Wayne) and Maranda Young (North Baltimore) both for the Nail Care contest; and Amber Hyde (Woodmore), Tom Repolesk (Otsego) and Isaiah Witt (Swanton), all for the Welding Fabrication Team contest.
Second Place (silver medal) winners were: Greyson Perry (Lake) for the Advertising Design contest; Andru Fowler (Lake) for the Collision Repair Technology contest; RaiLyn Zamarripa (Bowling Green) and Megan Browne (Eastwood) both for the Nail Care contest; Ashlynn Groom (Woodmore), Makayla Hafling (Anthony Wayne), Tiffanie Pelka (Rossford), John Ray (Springfield), Caitlin Rodriguez (Perrysburg), and Lyndsey Torres (Anthony Wayne) all for the Opening and Closing Team contest; and Kristen Ebert (Rossford), Kevin Mason (Lake), Donald Rolf (Eastwood), and Tyler Tucker (Bowling Green) all for the Team Works contest.
Third Place (bronze medal) winners were: Arthur Heudecker (Springfield) for the Electrical Construction Wiring contest; Carl Bressler (Bowling Green) for the Information Technology Services contest; Justin Schneider (Maumee) for the Job Skills Demo Open contest; Nicholas Alonzo (Lake) for the Photography contest; and Elizabeth Busch (North Baltimore), Jacob Chism (Perrysburg) and Kyle Espenshade (Perrysburg) all for the Welding Fabrication Team.
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. The organization provides quality educational experiences such as leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and character development skills.
