Congratulations State SkillsUSA Winners!

     Dozens of Penta students competed at the Ohio SkillsUSA Championships in Columbus on April 15 & 16 and 12 students earned top awards. The following students earned first place (gold medals) and qualify for the 2014 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City, Missouri this summer: Jared Coker (Genoa) - Welding, Welding contest; Lexy Rupp (Anthony Wayne) – Culinary Arts, Culinary Arts contest; and Brandi Alderman (Otsego), Alexis Bailey (Maumee) and Nicole Lambert (Bowling Green) – all from Culinary Arts, Entrepreneurship contest.
      Students who earned second place (silver medals) included: Charles McCaw (Swanton) - Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Precision Machining contest and Justin Phillips (North Baltimore) – Construction Masonry, Masonry contest.
      Students who earned third place (bronze medals) included: Jakob Brand (Swanton) - Computer Aided Design, Architectural Drafting contest; William Bennett (Oak Harbor) - Computer Hardware Networking, Extemporaneous Speaking contest; Nick Schavey (Northwood) – Construction Carpentry, Cabinet Making contest; and Sydney St. Andre (Springfield) and Cameron Reef (Perrysburg) – both from Digital Video Production, Digital Cinema Production contest.
