Welding & Fabrication, 735 hours

This Job Training program includes a study of technical knowledge and practical experience

needed by those who plan to make welding a career. Our hands-on experience includes: thermo-cutting, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and applications of pipe welding. The students learn to weld and fabricate using various metals: brass, copper and cast iron.

The program is made up of the following topics:

  • Shop Safety
  • Introduction to Metal Fabrication
  • Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
  • Pipe Welding                             
  • Introduction to Computers
  • CPR / First Aid / AED
  • Job Seeking Skills

 

 

All students will receive a Basic Welding tool kit which includes: helmet, goggles, jacket and gloves for use during the course.  The Basic Welding Kit will become the student’s property upon the successful completion of the course.  

Students will be given a maximum of 10 practice coupons and 4 test coupons through the course.
