In this hands-on class, the student will learn the proper method to set up the various brick
and block course, masonry structures, and fireplaces.  Maintenance and upkeep will also be

In this class, the student will learn the various concepts of circuits utilizing “bread boards” to
create circuits using 120 and 240 single-phase power. The student will also use full size mock-
ups for circuit wiring procedures using switches, receptacles and lighting.  Low voltage electrical

Dry Wall & Counter Tops, 48 hours

Students in this class will learn the basic application of dry wall along with finishing techniques, preparation, and texture.  Repair of dry wall will also be covered. The second part of this class
will deal with counter tops.  Knowledge regarding framework, cutting openings, attaching back
splash, and attaching counter tops and cabinets are included.

(tongue & groove, subfloor over concrete, floor squeaks, repair damaged floor).

and Recovery Certification Test under the direction of the Pennsylvania College of Technology,
Penn State University.

Low Pressure Boiler Systems, 52 hours 
Approved by State Superintendent

The Low Pressure Boiler Operator course covers low-pressure steam, hydronic system components,
and boiler operation. Topics to be covered:

  • Principles and Standards

Ohio Department of Commerce Licensure Guidelines
for Low Pressure Boiler Operation

Experience/Training:   No person shall be examined for licensing as a Low-Pressure Boiler Operator who Has not first demonstrated that they meet one of the following experience qualifications: 

             (1)       Two thousand hours of operating experience associated in direct care, custody
                        and control of the fuel, combustion air, water level, steam pressure, system load,
                        and supporting equipment of a steam boiler not exceeding fifteen pounds per
                        square inch.

                         Or

             (2)       Six hundred hours of operating experience associated in direct care, custody and
                        control of the fuel, combustion air, water level, steam pressure, system load, and
                        supporting equipment of a steam boiler not exceeding fifteen pounds per square
                        inch and the successful completion of a fifty hour steam boiler operation course
                        approved by the superintendent.

  Tuition does not include books.

Technical Math I, 30 hours 

The Technical Math I course is designed to provide training with fundamental arithmetic that may
have been forgotten or for those in need of a refresher. The course will cover addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, mixed numbers and fractions.

Technical Math II, 30 hours 

The Technical Math II course is designed for individuals working in an environment that requires the ability to solve complex mathematical problems using basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry. 

The course will cover percentages, perimeters/circumference, area and volumes of triangles, rectangles and circles. The course will also cover the development and measurement of angles and their relationships.

Precision Measurement 

Precision measurement involves the hands-on training in measurement using the various instruments found in manufacturing such as the micrometer, caliper and height gauge. In this class, the student will use classroom and hands-on training to learn the basic instruction in ARC and Oxyacetylene cutting, proper identification of parts, rod selection, essentials of proper welds, and types and positions in welding.  Students with different skills and abilities will be accepted in
this class. Individual instruction will be directed to meet the variety of levels of the students.
