Part-Time Introduction to Machine Trades

Introduction to Machine Trades

Machine Processes I

Lathe Operations I, 16 hours

Students will learn basic operations of a manual lathe through demonstrations and hands-on experiences.  Machine Shop Safety and an introduction to Basic Blue Print Reading will also be a
part of this program.

Precision Measurement 

Precision measurement involves the hands-on training in measurement using the various instruments found in manufacturing such as the micrometer, caliper and height gauge. Techniques that focus on proper handling and reading of these instruments that are used to determine measurement to specific tolerances will be presented during this course.
