Part-Time Introduction to Machine Trades Introduction to Machine Trades Machine Processes I Lathe Operations I, 16 hours Students will learn basic operations
of a manual lathe through demonstrations and hands-on experiences. Machine Shop
Safety and an introduction to Basic Blue Print Reading will also be a
Lathe Operations II, 16 hours Students will build upon the skills learned in Lathe Operations I
Machine Processes II Vertical Mill Operations I Students will learn
basic operations on a manual vertical mill. They will learn how to
manufacture
Vertical Mill Operations II Students will build on skills learned in Vertical Mill Operations I.
Machine Shop Project I Students will apply the
skills learned in Lathe I & II, Vertical Milling Operations I & II and
Precision Measurement Precision measurement involves the hands-on training in measurement using the various instruments found in manufacturing such as the micrometer, caliper and height gauge. Techniques that focus on proper handling and reading of these instruments that are used to determine measurement to specific tolerances will be presented during this course.
